Life as an engineer in fast-paced Silicon Valley came with unexpected stress—career pressure, family expectations, saving for a house, daily chores, and aging. The breaking point arrived during the 2020 pandemic, bringing constant anxiety, insomnia, and heartburn, intensified by caffeine and acidity from coffee.
My wife introduced me to tea, which was calming but still problematic due to my extreme caffeine sensitivity, especially before critical meetings and tasks. This sparked the question: why not decaf tea?
Having grown up in Taiwan, tea was central to my life—comforting, calming, and flavorful. However, available decaf teas were disappointing: bland, tasteless, and often chemically decaffeinated.
Driven by necessity, I dedicated two years testing over 200 teas and developed a proprietary, chemical-free decaffeination method using supercritical COâ‚‚. This ensures authentic flavor with significantly reduced caffeine.
